Exhibition Launch
On 19th January 2017, Eastside Community Heritage launched an exhibition, comprising of oral history quotes, photos and memorabilia from Silvertown and the explosion alongside a talk by author Graham Hill (The Silvertown Explosion). The launch took place in St Luke's Community centre and held a minute's silence at 6:52pm to commemorate the event on the 100th anniversary of the explosion.
The exhibition banners detailed the history of the area as well as the explosion and aftermath from sources whose family members were affected by the blast.
Many of those interviewed were present at the event as well as other members of the community who had lost family members in the explosion.
